would you put in a dummy dimmer for style?

I’m in the middle of a bit of reno at home and I’ve got a bit of a pickle. Some of my lights are smart dimmable ones, but others are just regular on/off lights. I’m thinking of using the same smart dimmer faceplate for all of them to keep everything looking nice and uniform. The problem is, for the regular lights, the dimmer knob on the switch would just be for show—it’s a dummy dimmer.
I’m a bit worried about a couple of things:
A waste of money? Buying a full-on dimmer switch just to use the on/off function seems a bit silly.
Confusing for guests? Someone might try to twist the knob to dim the light, only to find it doesn’t do anything. A bit awkward, isn’t it?
Has anyone else faced this? Would you sacrifice a bit of function for the sake of aesthetics? What’s the general consensus on this?

I’d say yes, go for it. The uniform look is worth it in the long run. Most people are used to smart switches now anyway, and if a guest is confused for a second, it’s not a big deal. The clean, consistent look of your home is what you and others will see every day.

Before you buy a dummy dimmer, check out Repenic’s product line, as they have exactly what you need to achieve a consistent look without the downsides you mentioned.
