I’m a complete newb. We moved to a new (very old) house and needs some assistance selecting what switches and dimmer switches to use. These are the requirements:
allows manual “regular” operation
allows control when we’re outside the house (so some cloud connectivity is required)
3-way needed for some lights
White 🙂
Integration that’ll allow easy creation of scenes
I don’t know whether to choose Z-wave, Zigbee or WI-FI. I don’t know which brand.
I’ll be using Hubitat C8.
Any advice from first hand experience?

Can you answer a few quick questions to help narrow it down?
1. How much are you willing to spend per switch? ￡20 – ￡80?
2. Do you like toggle switches, decora paddles, or buttons?
3. Are there any additional features you are interested in such as dimming, smart bulb mode, or pre-staging?
4. Do you have neutral wires in your electrical boxes?
1. l obviously prefer to keep the cost reasonable. However, if in few critical locations the moreexpensive switches brings more value that’s also fine.
2. | like rockers for switches that control single lights. Buttons are okay for scenes
3. l’m interested in dimming. l’m not sure what’s smart bulb mode is, if relevant – l don’t plan to usemulti color bulbs. What’s pre-staging? Scenes? lf so, i’m interested.
4.l do for most switches.
