Is Your 'Perfect Temperature' Different for Summer and Winter?
I do 18°C in winter and 25-26°C in the summer in summer. The house is older and otherwise the HVAC/furnace would run constantly.

See lessThe smart programming is really easy and just works on its own, which is super convenient. I barely have to think about it. The energy usage reports are a great feature too—it’s really useful to see exactly where the energy is going and how much I’m saving.
Hope to hear what others think about it!

Hey Edwinc,
See lessFinding a new thermostat can be a pain! Here’s a simple breakdown of what to keep in mind:
Smart or Simple? Smart thermostats are great if you want to control everything from your phone, save energy automatically, and get more advanced features. If you just need something to set a temperature and forget it, a basic programmable thermostat is a better fit.
Compatibility is Key: This is probably the most important part. Before you buy anything, you need to check if it will work with your heating and cooling system. Specifically, look for a “C-wire” (common wire). Many advanced thermostats need this for power, and if you don’t have one, you might need an adapter or a different type of thermostat.
Features to Look For: Some features are just for show, but others are genuinely helpful. Things like geofencing (it adjusts the temp when you leave and come back) and learning your habits to create a schedule for you can be really useful for saving money.
Do Your Research: Instead of focusing on specific brands to buy or avoid, check out user reviews for the type of thermostat you’re interested in. Look for comments on installation, ease of use, and how well it works with different systems. Sticking with well-known manufacturers is usually a safe bet.
Hope this helps you make a good choice!

I'd suggest you first check the make and model of your existing MLV transformer. Sometimes, older transformer brands still have corresponding compatible dimmers on the market. Before you buy anything, you could check the brand's website to see if they recommend a specific pairing.

Hi m2,
See lessGreat question! Repenic universal dimmers are definitely more than just “fancy switches.”
The main difference is that Repenic dimmers allow you to adjust the intensity of your lights by regulating the voltage, whereas standard switches only offer an on/off function. This means you can brighten or dim your lights to suit your mood or activity.
For new renovations, I’d say they’re highly recommended, especially if you value flexible lighting. It’s much easier to plan for the wiring compatibility during a renovation than to try and retrofit them later. They’re great for creating ambiance and can even lead to energy savings by not always running your lights at full power. Plus, with Repenic’s quality, you’re investing in reliability.
